Growing Thavnairian Onions

Items required

  • Deluxe Garden Patch, purchasable from any Housing Merchant
  • 4 sets of seeds, any combination of:
    • Curiel Root
    • Mimett Gourd
    • Pahsana Fruit
    • Sylkis Bud
    • Tantalplant
  • Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil
  • Old World Fig Seeds

Steps

  1. Plant the Old World Fig Seeds in the even-numbered plots of the Deluxe Garden Patch, along with the Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil.
  2. Plant the other seeds in the odd-numbered plots, along with the Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil.
  3. Optionally fertilize with Fish Meal to make them grow faster.
  4. Tend to them at least every 48 hours for the next five days.
  5. Only harvest the figs. Never harvest the other seeds.
  6. If you also got Royal Kukuru Seeds from the harvest, congrats! You can move on to step 7. If you didn't, go back to step 1.
  7. Plant the Royal Kukuru Seeds. (If you don’t have enough, fill the remaining slots with more Old World Fig Seeds.)
  8. Tend to the plants at least every 36 hours for another six days.
  9. Harvest the Royal Kukuru Seeds, and hopefully you also got some Thavnairian Onion Seeds. If not, rinse and repeat.
  10. Plant the Thavnairian Onion Seeds wherever you like (a garden pot works fine too). Tend to them at least every 48 hours for 10 days and you’ll get an onion.

Notes

You can only get one onion per plant. Don’t bother with Shroud topsoil.

Grade 3 Thanalan topsoil can be received via the following methods:

  • Timed node in Western Thanalan (17X 28Y) at 5AM Eorzea Time
  • Level 50 Mining ventures, once per hour
  • Trade 150 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics to Hismena in Idyllshire for Unidentifiable Ore, then trade 1 Unidentifiable Ore to Bertana for topsoil.
