I like designing HTML and CSS, but it’s also a mental strain on me and I just don’t have the energy lately. So I spent all of yesterday, well, on this — converting my site to this Obsidian vault. When I have something to update, I export it and then git push
to upload it.
(I already had the git setup done ages ago. I should probably document that somewhere for Future Me.)
And now I’m trying out Obsidian’s “daily notes” feature for the first time for… basically a blog. I was already keeping a blog on Dreamwidth (mostly mirrored from my gemlog), but this is more convenient? If I write anything substantial I’ll probably go and mirror it to the aforementioned places. The neat thing about doing it this way, though, is I can also just jot down whatever I’m thinking about and it takes basically no effort to upload. I mean, I could probably toss together some scripts to do the same in my gemlog (or go back to using a tinylog) (or just shitpost on Mastodon) but Dreamwidth is very Web 1.0 and requires slight effort to update.
Let’s see what happens when I add tags to this thing.
